Hello

Hi All,

Claude & I have had a pretty good weekend.  I (Harry) had a great walk today with Rachel and her friend Claire this afternoon.  The only problem with "getting on a bit" is that in the evening after a long walk I start to stiffen up a bit, which is a little annoying.  However, nothing I can't cope with.

Claude's been asleep all day, pretty much.  He was allowed on the humans bed this morning while they had their lie in.  It's not realy very fair - I'm not allowed upstairs (except on Christmas Day and sometimes in France when Nasty Lady gets lonely cos Nice Man isn't there), but Claude gets to go where he wants.  It's a dog's life, as they say.

Anyway, hope all our lovely readers (if there are any) have had a good weekend.  Speak to you soon.

Harry & Claude

Happy New Year

Happy New Year, Blog Readers!

It's been a while, I know, but life passes by so quickly - before you know it, a year has gone by!

I've just got back from Christmas & New Year in France, which was great - I love it over there; freedom to roam, lots of smells and animals to chase.  There are some peacocks who live next door and sometimes they come over on to our land.  Did you know a peacock can fly?  I didn't think it would be able to, but it flew up on to the roof of the barn.  It looked too big to fly to me, but there you go, appearances can be deceptive.

Claude had to stay behind in England while we were away.  He was a bit lonely, but managed to catch a few "victims" on his hunting forays.  He was only on his own for a week, and some other people were keeping an eye on him.

We (Claude & I) have made a New Year resolution to try to keep the blog a bit more regular - just in case anyone reads it!!  Anyway, bye for now - speak to you soon.

Harry.

Long Time No See!!

Hello Everyone,

We know it's been a long time since our last blog, but we've been very busy, so please accept our apologies.  We're now both in France and have been for most of the summer - it's great, lots of space; loads of adoring friends; walks galore; titbits and mice to eat!

The weather's not been too good, at least that's what people say, although we don't mind too much - as long as it's not raining.

Since we last wrote we've had a comment from a chap called Benson, who lives in York and apparantly he also has a house near us (well, we think it's near us - it's in the Loire Valley anyway!).  So, if you read this - "Hello, Benson".

We have some new photos to add, which we'll try and get NIce Man to sort out when he gets a chance.  Unfortunately, he has to work in England all through the summer, so we don't get to see him too often.  He's coming over here soon, which will be good, cos we miss him.

Anyway, gotta go - people to look longingly at (in the hope of getting some food!) and mice to catch!  Speak soon.

Forgotten Again!

Posted January 18, 2009 12:37PM

Hi.  Harry always forgets about me when he does his blogs!  You'd think I don't exist the way he goes on.  Dogs, ay!  Who'd have 'em?!

I've been out and about quite a lot this week, but that cold wet stuff has disappeared and now there's just wet water stuff everywhere.  My feet are getting soaked!  The biggest problem is that the staff can tell whenever I've gone somewhere I shouldn't have when I come back inside because I leave my paw prints everywhere!  I can't work out how to stop that happening.  There's been lots of stuff to explore - I chased this thing outside.  It's only got 2 legs, so I thought I'd probably be able to catch it without any trouble, but as I got close to it, some flappy things appeared and it went up in to a tree - amazing!  I climbed the tree after it and then it used its flappy things again and disappeared off in to the air.  I then had to get back down the tree and I slipped and slithered and nearly fell out - not cool!  I don't think anyone was watching!

Anyway, time for a quick kip.  Speak to you later!

Hello Again

Posted January 18, 2009 12:27PM

Hello again.  Hope you've had a good week.  I'm a bit disappointed that my blog hasn't created any comments or anything - perhaps nobody's reading it or worse, perhaps nobody's interested in it!  Oh well.....

I'll keep plugging away for a bit longer.  I've had quite a good week this week - a few good walks, Nice Man has taken me to work, so I've been able to sniff other people, get the odd titbit, etc.  There's a guy there who really doesn't like dogs, but he's quite kind, so I make a point of sniffing him and sitting next to him just to wind him up.  But he's too nice to say or do anything!!  The humans took me out for car walkies yesterday. Spent the whole day in the car but I went to see my human sister at her college, and then we went to see some other people who took me for a walk while some of them had tea and chatted about stuff.  I think they were people we met in France, I can't really remember, but I know they seemed to like me.  I think they might be coming again this year, so that'll be good.

I'm hoping to get a good long walk today, as it's Sunday, but I haven't seen any sign of the humans yet, apart from one of them coming down to turn on the thing that makes steam after a while and gets mixed in to some cup and then smells different.  I don't get too close to that, it is very hot and burns your nose when you try to sniff it!

Well, that's this week's news.  Speak later.  bye for now.

Claude's Bit

Hello peeps.  I don't get taken for walks but I do get let out occasionally.  I love it, but it is v. cold underfoot at the moment, so I don't stay out for too long.  My staff are quite good at letting me back in when I've had enough - a couple of miaouws is enought to get the door opened for me!  This white stuff on the ground is odd - interesting and soft to walk on but takes away the feeling in the pads of your feet after a while.  Slippery too!

I get to lie in Harry's bed when he's not here.  The staff took him out so I nabbed his bed!  He's very kind though.  When he gets back he never tries to kick me out.  I shouldn't take advantage of his good natue I s'pose, but then, I'm a cat and that's what cats do, isn't it?!

Time I was having a nap - I've had a hard day exploring stuff and this cold weather takes it out of you!

Brass Monkeys

Posted January 10, 2009 03:37PM

Just been out for my walk - great!  But it's absolutely brass monkeys out there!!  Nice Man and Nasty Lady both came with me, but Nasty Lady took forever to get ready - just cos it's cold!  Some bouncy boxer nicked my ball half way through the walk and wouldn't give it back, but he was only young so I went along with it.  He got bored eventually and dropped it and fortunately the humans went back the way we came so we could get away from the little blighter.

Anyway, we're back now and I'm stuck in the kitchen til I've dried off - bit of a pain, but it's worth it.  Well, that's all the news for now - looking forward to an evening stretched out on the rug in front of the telly.  (Not as good as France -we have a raging log fire for me to stretch out in front of - absolute bliss!)

Bonjour

And I'm Claude, a bilingual (french & english) tabby cat, although I have to say I've pretty much forgotten all my french now.  I'm about 8 months old - I'm not sure exactly when my birthday is.....

Anyway, welcome to MY blog, as well.
